03 Self Portrait

 


In this vectorized self-portrait, I translated a "head and shoulders" selfie into a stylized digital illustration using Adobe Illustrator. My goal was to create a clean and minimalist aesthetic that still captured recognizable details of my features. I focused on using flat, layered colors to simplify the composition while adding depth and personality to the piece.

I used the pen tool to trace my features, creating smooth transitions between the shapes that define my face, hair, and background. Layering was an important technique I used to achieve a sense of dimension, allowing the overlapping shapes to create a balanced composition. The muted color palette I chose reflects a warm and approachable tone, while subtle variations in the shadows and highlights help distinguish different areas of the portrait.

 While the simplicity is admirable, incorporating a few accent colors might have made the design more visually dynamic without overwhelming the aesthetic.
